ALOPECIAAlopecia is an autoimmune condition that results in hair loss, and the autoimmune reaction appears to be the immune system's mistaken attack on its own hair follicles, the tiny cup shaped structures from which hairs grow. Hair can be lost from any part of the body. While alopecia doesn't usually involve any specific medical or disease symptoms, the loss of hair can make it a particularly stressful and upsetting condition for sufferers, who are
predominantly women and young people. |
ALOPECIA AREATA

With alopecia, hair loss may be in small, round, patches on the scalp, about the size of a quarter
-- known as alopecia areata. In many cases, the disease does not extend beyond a few bare
patches.

ALOPECIA TOTALIS:

If it involve the loss of all facial and scalp hair – it is alopecia totalis.
ALOPECIA UNIVERSALIS:

Alopecia universalis is the loss of all body hair (head, face and body).
Although the exact cause for alopecia is not known, it's thought, however, that some environmental, viral or genetic triggers or exposure predisposes some people to Alopecia causing immune system to attack hair follicles. That is deranged immune system. In alopecia areata, immune system cells called white blood cells attack the rapidly growing cells in the hair follicles that make the hair. The affected hair follicles become small and drastically slow down hair production. Fortunately, the stem cells that continually supply the follicle with new cells do not seem to be targeted. So the follicle always has the potential to regrow hair. This is exactly where Homeopathy has a role to play. Rectifying the deranged healing mechanism in the body. There is every chance that hair will grow back but it may also fall out again. In some cases the hair may not grow back at all. The course of this disease varies from person to person. Family history and other underlying diseases all contribute to the recovery time. However, Homeopathy will provide you with the safest and best chance of regrowth and prevents recurrence of the disease again and again. Patience and persistence is vital as it certainly takes time and regular intake of remedies for long lasting results. Alopecia Areata TREATED SUCCESSFULLY THROUGH HOMEOPATHY – Live case Mrs. SR visited my clinic with a recently developed bald patch (approximately 1 inch in diameter). No signs of inflammation, itching or eruption of the scalp. No signs of new hairs coming from that spot. She observed the spot accidentally when she was combing her hair. This was three months before she visited me. She was very much stressed out and worried, after she read about the condition on the internet. She is an intelligent women working for an IT firm under stressful situations, but still smart enough to finish work on time and manage her family life well. No family history of alopecia. Mother and father both have thick black hair. She started looking for effective treatments. Her family doctor saw the bald spot increasing in size every week and referred her to a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist’s advice was to give cortisone injections around the margin of the patch to prevent the progress of the condition. She kept it as a last resort after considering its side effects. She started endeavouring other treatments and alternatives. Up on suggestion from her friend who is my previous client who has benefited from generalised hair loss, she contacted me. After a thorough study of her case involving her pattern of hair loss, family history, body constitution and system analysis, I advised her to give me three months to work on the problem. As it is an autoimmune disorder nothing could be said with certainty about the out come. Homeopathic treatment involves rectifying the deranged self healing mechanism and enhancing the immune system of the body in an individualised fashion so that the body can overcome the condition by itself. An indicated remedy was selected and was given to her to be taken once every day. Second visit: She visited with great enthusiasm in three weeks time. The confidence and glow in her face told me everything I had to know about the progress of the condition. The patch stopped growing and new hairs started appearing. When I examined the patch and measured it, the size of the patch was same as before, which was a good sign. Previously it was increasing each week during her visits to the GP. Now new hair had started growing along the margin of the patch. But the new hairs were looking weak. The follow up prescription was give for one month. Third visit: There was further improvement with new strong hair growing all over the bald patch. She also told me that her periods were very normal after so many years (no excessive bleeding and pain). This is what happens in a Classical Homeopathic treatment. When an indicated remedy is given, it will find the root cause and rectify even other problems that have been worrying you for a while. In three months she had new hair which glowed with health. She is now perceiving her treatment with me for TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint problem) and is also finding positive results. Conclusion: Homeopathic remedies are prepared to very precise standards specifically to stimulate the self healing mechanism (immune system) of the body in an individualised fashion. It is a very holistic approach to health. Successful treatment brings about complete recovery and long lasting results. The primary action of Homeopathic remedies is to prevent the progress of the disease. Unless the sickness is life threatening, Homeopathy greatly assists the body by kick starting its immune system to fight the disease by itself. This is how the human body (just like plants and animals) is meant to be. Even in several complicated health disorders it provides an excellent supportive treatment to reduce pain and suffering and to prevent further deterioration. |
